The Masters

 
For full time or part-time living on Kaanapali hillside, The Masters is one of West Maui’s most coveted residential condominium neighborhoods, known for its beautiful grounds and ocean views.  The Masters is a gated community with onsite management and security, tennis courts, two swimming pools, and hot tub spas.  Located just above the Royal Kaanapali Golf Course, the Masters is less than a mile to Kahekili Beach Park, also known as “Airport Beach.”  This is a popular swimming beach and there are places to snorkel, dive, and paddle.  There is public parking at the beach park, and a grassy area with a picnic pavilion, and charcoal grills.  Make your way down the beach path for a pau hana at Dukes to the north or Castaways to the south, or simply enjoy the beach and take in a beautiful sunset.
 
The Masters at Kaanapali was developed and built around 1990 by Onbayashi Hawaii Corporation, a Japanese construction company. There are a total of 198 units spread out between 35 two-story buildings on nearly 38 acres. The floor plans range from 901 interior square feet for a 1-bedroom to up to 2156 interior square feet for the very largest floor plan.  Most units are 2-bedroom units, ranging from 1512 – 1544 interior square feet. The covered lanais are typically around 200 additional square feet, expanding the living space.
 
Many units have at least a few steps either up or down to get to the front door.  There are very few units with a completely level access from the parking area.
 
Owners can keep a golf cart on property and for a nominal monthly fee and use the golf cart charging stations. The golf carts can be parked in the same spaces as the cars along with a car, in a guest space, or pending availability, stored in the storage area.  Motorcycles are not allowed to be driven within the Masters due to noise.
 
There are fruit trees on the property – lemon, lime, oranges, and banana.  Enjoy the beauty of this special site on Kaanapali Hillside in a private community without the need to do yardwork.

Air-conditioning: Yes. Air conditioning is permitted. It is up to individual homeowners to install split system air conditioning, window units, or central air conditioning. Check with the HOA for guidelines. The original design included some window type air-conditioning units.
Parking: Mostly uncovered assigned parking with 1 assigned space per unit, though some units have covered parking areas. There is guest parking available throughout.
Storage: Behind the manager’s office area there is a storage area for large boards and kayaks
BBQ: Yes. Gas and electric BBQ grills are permitted to be used on individual owners’ lanais
