International Colony Club
International Colony Club in Kaanapali is one of the few places on Maui you can own a free-standing cottage that can be used for short-term nightly vacation rentals. There are some full-time and part-time residents, and long-term rentals are also permitted.
Originally developed in 1964 as vacation residences within Kaanapali Resort, the International Colony Club consists of 45 individual cottages on just under 10 acres. There are two swimming pools, and park-like grounds of nearly ten acres. The cottages are plantation style wood buildings, painted green, with wood shingle roofs. There are a variety of different layouts and floor plans, though most range from 936 sf – 1450 sf and have 1-3 bedrooms. This is a golf cart friendly community with paths designed for golf cart travel, and designated golf cart parking areas.
The address for International Colony Club is 2750 Kalapu Dr., Lahaina, HI. The property is located below the Kaanapali Golf Course on the mauka (mountain side) of the highway, just up the hill from Kahekili Beach Park, also known as “Airport Beach,” part of North Kaanapali Beach. This is a good swimming beach and there are places to snorkel, dive, and paddleboard. There is ample public parking here at the beach park, and a grassy area with a picnic pavilion, and charcoal grills. Make your way down the beach path for a pau hana at Dukes to the north or Castaways to the south, or simply enjoy the beach and take in a beautiful sunset.
